Welcome, ladies and sirs, to helikitty.com, the official homepage of Mike Cooper. I'm a writer/documentarian/satirist/retail slave living in Pittsburgh, seeking happiness, recognition, and just general stable employment of some sort, preferably involving one of the many creative endeavors to which I'm psychologically beholden.

Oh, and I tend to be a tad verbose.

This site serves as my internet base of operations, and home to the various projects and writings I've completed in the last several years. I'm hoping it will aid in procuring future employment, so those who might like to pay me for something are particularly welcome, but all interested parties are encouraged to look around. The site is organized into the following six sections:

About - the standard biographical data, cleverly dispersed amongst lots of profile sites.

Writing - my first love. Despite my myriad areas of interest, the one thing that comes most naturally to me is writing. Unfortunately, I have difficulty narrowing it down any more than that; in my time, I've written short films (see Video), comics, topical satire, straightforward opinion essays, and short prose stories, to name a few. Some highlights are presented here.

Video - my second love, and, technically, my professional field. I attended college at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, where I majored in Visual Effects and Motion Graphics; essentially, movie trailers, TV commercials, and so on. Most of the work in this section is from class, but I've continued to do projects here and there in my free time since graduating, with an apparent emphasis on talking heads (hence my "documentarian" appellation).

Web - here you'll find a breakdown of my "professional" history as a website creator/staffer, one thing for which I'm actually slightly well-known, if you travel in certain circles. Those circles? Star Wars fans. Also included are links to my two active blogs, one for general matters (with a sizeable focus on politics, my third love), and one for Star Wars.

Résumé - self-explanatory, I would imagine. Feel free to give me a call if you want to pay me millions of dollars to be a creative genius. I don't mind, really.
