Ah, the internet profile. Whether you’re partial
to MySpace or Campus Hook, whether you’re a Friendster or a LiveJournalist, what
better way to express yourself and connect with like-minded souls across the
farthest reaches of cyberspace than with a little page devoted entirely to you;
your hopes, fears, dreams, and favorite pop stars, all rolled into one nifty
package? Unless you have your own website altogether, of course; but c’mon—only
assholes have an entire website all about themselves.
Rather than rehash the usual biographical and psychological
info here, I’m giving the curious surfers among you the opportunity to browse
the diaspora, by way of a comprehensive list of every profile, user info, and
journal page ever to bear my digital imprint, no matter how trivial, antiquated,
or obfuscatory. My goal is to seek out as many profile/personals sites as possible, just
for the sake of enhancing this list, as a weird sort of social experiment. Not
to mention inflating my egomania.
As for how much effort I actually put into any of these, consider the list to be
in rough order of its current attention level. If you know of a site that isn't
in this list, let me know.
MySpace
- duh.
Wookieepedia - the Star Wars Wiki.
CampusHook
- pretty cool back in the day, sucks now.
Friendster - cool in theory; MySpace did it better.
Rebel Squadrons - a long-running SW gaming group.
OkCupid
- by far the coolest personals site.
LiveJournal
- some fairly decent old writing.
Jedi Council Forums - forums of the site I work for.
StarWars.com - my official site user info.
Classmates.com - useless, but interesting to see who's
on it. |
