Welcome to the Star Wars page! I've had a long history both working on and running SW-related websites, and this is where you'll find some of my best stuff in that area. The first place to see the bulk of my written SW work, of course, is TheForce.Net's Books section.
Star Wars Suite - My sole SW-related video project to date. With all six films finally out there, I wanted to make a sort of "Ultimate Montage"—bringing together, and often juxtaposing, images, dialogue, and most importantly, music from the entire saga and really pushing the notion that it's all one big story. It's definitely on the long side, but we're talking about 12 hours of material here—I couldn't bear to take anything else out.
Mike's 20 Most Memorable EU Moments - around August of '05, Star Wars Insider published the definitive Top 20 Memorable Moments in all of the Expanded Universe—at least, how they saw it. The article, written by Abel G. Peña and Enrique Guerrero, was accompanied by more than one request for readers to send in their own top moments, so I started up a blog at Starwars.com in order to do just that. It may have taken me another two months or so to actually do it, but what can I say—this baby clocks in at almost 4,700 words! I have a sneaking suspicion that even the official article isn't this long.
Scoundrels: A Jedi's Weapon - coming soon - intended to be the first of a series of stories for my ill-fated TFN Webstrips project, my goal is now to present it as fan fiction of a more standard variety. Click the link for a short teaser.
Mix Dayne - my first entry in Starwars.com's What's the Story competition, which allows fans to develop backstories for minor characters from the films. Though he wasn't selected, Mix will live on in the first Scoundrels story.
Lanscus Oicunn - my second What's the Story entry.
Booster Terrik - shifting gears away from backstories of my own creation, this one's an extensive and thoroughly-researched biography of one of my favorite characters—as well as my biggest piece of writing, Star Wars or otherwise, thus far. It was written for inclusion on the Wookieepedia, and its most current version can always be seen there, but what you'll find here is more or less its original incarnation.
Gorm the Dissolver - ditto. Gormy here was my first foray into wiki article writing, and thus it's much smaller than Booster's article, but I'm no less happy with how it turned out.
Dogfight - the only time I ever got away with doing a Star Wars project for school. The class was Introduction to Audio, and the assignment was simply to create a short piece of audio using ProTools; the result is a brief starfighter battle sequence featuring myself and several friends as pilots. It's since had the distinction of being hosted at Star Wars Fanworks, the home base for almost all SW fan audio material. Rumors that all the pilot characters have names stolen from The Matrix Reloaded are greatly exaggerated.
Book Reviews - simple enough. Here you'll find an archive of every book review I've done during my many years at TFN.
Blog Archive - though my primary blog is intended to focus on "real life" matters—politics, society, and such—I occasionally feel it necessary to dish out my thoughts on this crazy little franchise I've invested so much time in. Any and all articles of that nature, after premiering in my official blog, will be saved here for posterity.
