The Arguments - a trailer for a nonexistent movie. Done in the summer leading up to the '04 Presidential Election, I knew I wanted something with an activist bent, but without making any real outright statements. I think I pulled it off quite well.
Star Wars Suite - making the leap from the Star Wars page because, well, I really like it. With all six Star Wars films finally out there, I wanted to make a sort of "Ultimate Montage"—bringing together, and often juxtaposing, images, dialogue, and most importantly, music from the entire saga and really pushing the notion that it's all one big story. It's definitely on the long side, but we're talking about 12 hours of material here—I couldn't bear to take anything else out. Containing nothing other than material straight from the films, this one definitely falls into the Works of Love category. Star Wars is a registered trademark/copyright of Lucasfilm, Ltd.
The SwankEasy - Behind the Scenes - short documentary/montage piece for the Pillow Project Dance Company's Spring '06 production, The SwankEasy. Though it continues an interesting predilection toward talking heads, this is my first video project not featuring scripted dialogue.
Pillow Project - until I make the appropriate
accommodations here, follow
this link to see my several most recent videos with The Pillow Project. I
think you have to me a MySpace member to view the page, though. Prototype 1138
- another trailer for a nonexistent movie, this time done for a class
assignment with the requirement that the film be a big summer blockbuster.
Naturally, my group went with giant robots. I got to write an outline for the
whole movie, edit the trailer together, and get groped by a foxy redhead, so all
around, a fun little project. Demo Tape
- a montage of all my work from college, made for display at my graduation. It
has its moments, but overall, I've never been phenomenally pleased with it, and
I'm thinking of taking another whack at it sometime soon. Watchmen: The Movie
- another Works of Love production, based on easily my favorite book, Alan
Moore's Watchmen. The assignment was to make an opening credit sequence,
though the end result seems to be a little bit credit sequence, a little bit
trailer. Watchmen is a registered trademark/copyright of
DC Comics, Inc. Waiting
- coming soon - my second short film; based on a short story I wrote about my old roommate
and myself. The story can be found in the Writing section. Sin City Trailer
- in honor of probably my
favorite movie trailer ever, not to mention an awesome
series of comics, I decided to take the teaser for Sin City and redo it
with the respective images from the comics, to show just how similar the movie was
going to be. Sin City is a registered trademark/copyright of
Dark Horse
Comics, Inc. (books) and
Dimension Films (movie). The Rockland World
- my first short film, written at the height of my Real World obsession
(i.e., the Las Vegas season). It certainly looks like my first short
film, but I still find it mildly amusing. At the end are the menus and special
features produced for a later DVD project. The Lone Gunmen - opening credits for the short-lived X-Files
spin-off. This is the piece that kicked off, retroactively speaking, my Works of
Love concept. The Lone Gunmen is a registered trademark/copyright of the
Fox Broadcasting Company. The Corvette
- a rotoscoping project. If you don't know what rotoscoping is, the easiest way
to explain it is to say that this 15-second video contains 450 separate images,
each one drawn over video footage manually. PNC Bank Spot
- a TV ad for PNC Bank; one of my earliest projects. The only criteria was to
base the advertisement off of a brochure for the company. It's pretty
simplistic, but I've always been fond of it.
